Dave will be riding a 1991 BMW R100GSPD which will start the trip with about 58,000 miles on it.
Ron's bike is a 2008 Kawasaki KLR650. The most significant modification was the addition of a 685cc piston kit from Schnitz Racing. A lighter piston means less vibration, better oil rings to solve the oil consumption problem KLRs have, and a couple more horsepower never hurts.
